In this week’s edition of Shire Network News, the official podcast of Silent Running, Laurence Simon thinks there might be better people to get a peace prize that Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. After hearing what Laurence has to say, you’re bound to agree.

The feature interview this week is with Carine, one of the two writers of French blog E-Nough who talks about what’s really going on in France, and why the French media can’t bring themselves to use certain nouns when attempting to describe the riots sweeping not just the capital, but many other cities as well. She reccomends you read No Pasaran! if you want to know what’s happening in Europe, and that’s good advice.

Also mentioned in the podcast, there are riots in Denmark too you know, just as crazed and violent as any of the ones in France that seem to get all the global coverage. Viking Pundit fills us in on the reasons.

German language blog Iblis gets shut down by its Austrian hosting company for “hate filled speech”, but it turns out the objectional material was in the comments section. Robert Spencer’s Dhimmi Watch rides to the rescue, and all is back in working order now.

On an even more serious note, Egyptian blogger Abdolkarim Nabil Seliman has been led away by security police and is now in “undisclosed detention” after writing about attacks on Coptic Christians by Islamists. Go to the Committee to Protect Bloggers for information and ways to assist in getting him out of jail.

It’s not just the French media who have had certain nouns removed from their vocabulary. The Grauniad has a story about the recent bombings in India in which…well, let’s just say there’s a crucial element missing. See if you can guess what it is.

Those whacky Jewish scientists with the inventing and the secret weapons and the underground laboratories with the dangerous experiments on test subjects hoyven maven have been at it again, at least according to “good” Jew, Anthony Lowenstein. From the same people who brought you the mysterious and powerful “vacuum bomb” which the Israeli Air Force is supposed to have “imploded” entire apartment buildings in Beirut in 1982, we now have the “sound weapon” which causes nosebleeds and miscarriages! Those wascally Jews! I mean Zionists! A commenter at J. W. Beck’s blog has an alternate theory on what’s causing the Palestinian suffering.
