Shire Network News is the podcast of Silent Running , an Anglospheric group blog. You can contact the presenter, "Tom Paine", here.

The feature interview this week is with Oregon based blogger Tracy Twyman, whose Plus Ultra Blog has been banned in Pakistan! Simply reading anything she writes can get you charged with blasphemy, which carries the death sentence. What was that about Pakistan being our ally again?

In the Full of Crap Report this week, Laurence Simon tees off on a number of topics, including sports, and why it is that Canada is allowed to beat the United States at anything.

And Meryl Yourish, in “On Second Thought” discusses the Dubai ports deal, and tries to answer the mystery of what possible reason American might have to be less than wildly enthusiastic about a foriegn country running US ports.

In Blog News, Ralph Peters goes in search of the elusive Iraqi Civil War, which the NY Times keeps telling us is just over the next hill. Feisty Republican Whore wants nunchucks, and plenty of them. Also, big-ass guns.

How badly do some people hate the idea of actually going to war against people who want us all dead or enslaved? The Indepundit has distilled essence of hatred in what he called “The Three Miniute Hate”. Turns out Bush fits the description of the Anti-Christ. Hey, I thought lefties were supposed to be secular!

The alleged “pancake breakfast” in memory of Rachel Corrie was a hoax! I say again, a hoax. Not that anyone should have much sympathy for the terrorist-coddling fool though. We’re still waiting for Alan Rickman to put on a play called my name is Rachel Levy (17, blown up in a grocery store); Rachel Levi (19, shot while waiting for the bus); Rachel Gavish (killed with her husband, son and father while at home celebrating a Pessah meal); Rachel Charhi (blown up while sitting in a Tel Aviv cafe, leaving three young children); or Rachel Shabo (murdered with her three sons aged 16, 13 and five, while at home). But being Jews, they don’t qualify for victim status.

If you try to kill a bunch of people to “punish the United States” for killing your people”, you leave a note explaining your motives beforehand, and claim at your trial that you welcome this chance to explain Allah to the world, and you’re an Iranian Muslim, is it terrorism? Not if you’re one of the enlightened intellectuals who run the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill! The Egyptian Sandmonkey listens to the words of Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar and is chilled to the bone.

PC nursery rhymes are now all the rage, what with “Baa Baa Black Sheep” having been banned for fear it will turn Oxfordshire toddlers into raving BNP supporters. We have a few modest examples of this new and exciting genre.

The blog “Religion of Peace” brings us a video example of how we may be winning the psychological war. A Muslim cleric is seen reading an impassioned speech about the Cartoons of Death, and I swear he goes into the most bang-on Robert-Tilton-At-Full-Throttle impersonation it’s scary! Jimmy Swaggart on a good day can’t match this guy’s hysteria. You have to watch the video to get the full flavour, but we have some fun with the audio track, which is plenty insane to start with.

And finally, in late-breaking news, 54 year old Tom Fox, one of the four members of a Christian Peacemaker team kidnapped in Iraq last year has been founded dead. His fellow Christian Peacemakers are compassionate and forgiving.

I’m not.
