Shire Network News is the podcast of Silent Running , an Anglospheric group blog. You can contact the presenter, "Tom Paine", here.

In the Full of Crap Report this week, Laurence Simon remembers the good old dys when “Sic Semper Tyrannis” actually meant something.

And Meryl Yourish, in “On Second Thought” discusses why so many American Jews have triuble bringing themselves to vote Republican. It’s something to do with being scared of their Grannies apparently.

Andrew Ian Dodge, in the London Report, discusses how Tory sleaze has at long last been superseded. By Labour sleaze!

The feature interview this week is with Sara Salzman of the Holocaust History Project, which was hit with what police are describing as an arson attack. Sara’s theory is – it wasn’t leprechauns.

In Blog News, the Infidel Bloggers Alliance clue us in on the latest job losses for those in the media with the Wrong Ideas. I wonder if there’s a formal blacklist, or if people just get demands for sackings from Certain Powerful Groups and process them without a second thought.

Senator Joe Biden of Delaware, in a reprise of his fondly remembered cameo role in “Aliens” takes a look at Iraq and declares “Game over man!”. The Egyptian Sandmonkey wonders if all other Americans are such big girls blouses too.

At Winds of Change, Tom Holsinger thinks Iran can be disarmed with an invasion, while Joe Katzman says we’re all doomed no matter what. He backs this up with gloomy poetry, always an effective debating tool.

Kiwi leftie blogger Russell Brown thinks the Israeli raid on the jail in Jericho won’t make Hamas more likely to negotiate with Israel. So do I, but then I seem to not give as much of a rats arse about it.

The Plus Ultra Blog, along with 11 other sites, is still banned in Pakistan, but unlike the others they now have their own song about it! Bite my tushi, Mushi! The song can be heard in full at the end of the podcast,

Oh, and I have some comments of a semi-theological nature in response to some of the criticism I rceived after last week’s comments about the murder of Christian Peacemaker Tom Fox in Iraq. I mean, god forbid we should respond to the torture and murder of innocent people with harsh language or anything.
