In the Full of Crap Report this week, Laurence Simon takes us through the legal and constitutional justifications for Capitol Police spear-tackling Cynthia McKinney on sight.
And Meryl Yourish, in “On Second Thought” wonders how the media can get “Hamas may accept two-state solution” from “We’re going to destroy Israel”. I think they have very special hearing aids. And glasses. And seeing-eye dogs
The feature interview this week is with Israeli blogger Allison Kaplan Sommer, writer of “An Unsealed Room”, who talks about Arabs and Israelis reading each others blogs, whether the blogosphere is a boys club, and why it seems to be acceptable to go on at length about your cats, but not about your children.
Also mentioned are Israeli bloggers Imshin, Rinat and Lisa Goldman.
In Blog News, this weekend it’s all action, all the time at NASCAR, with racism! Racism! RACISM! Brought to you by NBC – creating the news ever since we gave up on actually reporting it. Michelle Malkin exposes the network’s attempt to portray Red Staters as hate-filled drunken cousin-marryin’ rednecks who drool at the thought of beating up one of them there Ay-rabs.
United 93 comes out later this month, and I plan on going to see it when it gets to Australia. Judith Weiss at Kesher Talk and Winds of Change, says it will sort out the men from the boys. A word of warning - don't dip your toe into the message broad at the official movie site unles you enjoy anti-semitic conspiracy theories. The moonbats are out in force for this one, and they are NOT happy!Kiwi blogger David Farrar reports on the whacky adventures of a confused Marxist Sociology Professor from Mexico who has produced a United Nations report on the terrible deprivation suffered by the indigenous Maori people of New Zealand that reads like the first draft of “Krippindorf’s Tribe”, before they got a script doctor in to punch it up a bit. Which is what’s likey to happen to the Professor if he ever sets foot in New Zealand again.
European blogger Wolfgang Bruno wants to make the key anti-Jihadi works published in the west freely available on the Internet in Arabic, the better to hit the enemy where he lives. He says you don’t frighten a war fetishist with war, and you don’ scare a death cult with death; but if they scream like teenage girls at rational criticism and mockery, then we ought to hack away at that weak spot like lumberjacks.
A TV station is the US has shown the dreaded Cartoons of Death™ and it’s all because of a blog! Tracy Twyman’s Plus Ultra Blog from Portland Oregon (still banned in Pakistan last we checked) got on station KATU-TV this week, and they had an extended piece on free speech, the cartoons, the Pakistani legal threats against Tracy and her blog, and a brave bookstore owner who is showing more stones than Borders and Waldenbooks over stocking a magazine containing the cartoons.
Canadian blogger Kathy Shaidle, a former guest on Shire Network News, has been guest blogger at the religious site Beliefnet for the past few days, and it seems she’s introduced them to some novel concepts like truth and lies. Also, she’s very, VERY rude. Said Wicca was a fake religion, and Professors shouldn’t go around giving speeches advocating the extermination of 90% of the human race in an Ebola virus outbreak. She says it’s “wrong”, which seems to have left some commenters scurrying for a dictionary.
Aussie blogger J F Beck says if killing seals is the only way to keep Morrissey out of Canada, then whack away Canuck seal-murderers!
We also have a musical foretaste of next week’s special guests!
