Adil Zeshan and Sheila are concluding their conversation with Tom about what it is like to move away from Islam and face, at
best, disapproval and, at worst, death threats from ones own community and family.
In Blog News this week we cover the truly astonishing tale of the Amsterdam police station, the Islamic terrorist and the
big knife. I had thought that western society put a particularly high price on the life of policemen and women so it is
astonishing that this story received no attention in the wider European press. For a blog view go to Klein Verzet: Suicide attack in
Amsterdam.
Benazir Bhutto returns to Pakistan and somebody kills 123 people while trying to get her. Surprised? No, unfortunately
neither are we. The
Belmont Club has more.
The Religion of Peace website has the numbers of Muslims
killed by Muslims during Ramadan this year.
Once again, Islam puts up big Ramadan numbers: 1,327 dead bodies
in 282terror attacks in 20 countries during its holiest month.
Congratulations to theReligion of Peace!
The stories of talk show host Randi Rhodes either being attacked by Conservatives or falling down and meeting her new
dentist, Dr Sidewalk are all over the blogs. Have a look at LGF for example.

This week we talk to two free-thinkers. One is from the UK and the other from the USA and both are trying hard not to be
defined by the religion they were born into and have subsequently rejected. Shire Network News senior religious affairs
correspondent Tom Paine speaks to two ex-Muslims - Sheila (not her real name for reasons which are probably obviuous) who lives
in the United States, and Adil Zeshan from the United Kingdom. They talk about why they left, and why the fear the
reaction from their former compatriots.
This week we also talk about the Spectator sponsored debate: We should not be reluctant to assert the superiority of Western
values. You can find full details an a link to a recording at the Spectator's website.
The blogs are alive with stuff about Al Gore's Nobel Peace Prize. Hitting Metal With Hammer is just one link to look at.

We speak again this week to the Libforall founder and CEO, Holland
Taylor, and asked him if moderate Muslims aren't laying themselves open to charges of collaborating with Western infidels if
they work with his group.
You may have read about a conference on the Indonesian island of Bali, at which a Czech Holocaust survivor gave a moving
address to a multi-faith conference, attended by many Muslim leaders.
It was designed at act as a counterweight to the recent Iranian Conference which maintained that A) the Holocaust didn't
happen, B) it did happen but it was nowhere near as bad as those pesky Jews keep saying, and C) it did happen but Hitler
didn't do a thorough enough job so now the Muslims have to finish it for him.
But at the conference, held on the mainly Hindu island of Bali, Indonesia's former president, Abdurrahman Wahid, also known
as Gus Dur, denounced Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for branding the Holocaust a myth. The meeting was organised
by the Libforall Foundation.
In Blog News this week we look at how the Australian Navy dealt a little differently with Iranian capture attempts compared
to the Royal Navy. More details can be found at Little Green Footballs.
Tim Blair has more on the
BBC's internal report and on how it tried to solicit information that might, in the hands of an enemy lead to the death of
British or American soldiers. My license fee is truly being put to good use there.
I have to admit that it's Tom finding some of our weird Fatwas of the week so it's him you have to blame for a link to this
website: Islamicity. Go there for more details on exactly how many times you have to wash your hands after touching
a dog owner.

This week Damian Penny can't stay away from Jimmy Carter. He refers to the following post from Michael Totten and a Jerusalem Post article about

In this week's blog news I discuss the greatest danger to the world, the possibility that Israel may have a nuclear bomb. Hugh Fitzgerald at New English Review prompted my piece. You can see Israel's proposed entry to the Eurovision song contest here (which was chosen by popular phone vote).

SNN Founding Father "Tom Paine" talks to Wayne Kopping, director of the documentary film "Obsession, Radical Islam's war against the West". To buy your copy or view a 12 min taster, go to their web site. We can't recommend this highly enough. If you happen to have watched the movie in whole or part on YouTube or Google video, consider buying a DVD anyway. Please consider that these people deserve to make a living and recoup their costs so they can make the next film.
Ted Rall manages to write something that makes satire redundant. See here if you have the stomach.

One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half.

Defending the Anglosphere through Satire.
Now in its third year, Shire Network News is an unashamedly straight talking political Podcast. SNN covers the effect of the blogosphere on the news with more than a hint of ironic humour. SNN mixes contributions from established bloggers covering the US and Canada and a feature interview by Tom Paine from Australia. SNN is currently hosted by Brian of London. SNN often talks about the battle of Right thinking people against the forces of Jihad and consider the effects of Islamic terrorism on the modern world. SNN knows that Israel is fighting on behalf of all of us and SNN does not shy away from the truth that Main Stream Media won't cover. Try SNN, it won't cost you a thing and you'll probably like it. It's just like the BBC - except we tell the truth.
